Recent Avalanche Activity

Recent Weather

A couple storms brought 5 inches of water in 5 days. The freezing line fluctuated, eventually causing rain up to the peaks. Observations have been limited, though much avalanche activity occurred. Precipitation and temperatures have decreased, allowing snow stability to increase.

Expect up to a ½ inch of water Friday morning, with the freezing line just above sea level. This may cause some small new snow avalanches on steep wind loaded western aspects at tree line and above. Stability should improve through the weekend, though warm sunshine Saturday may cause some small avalanches on steep southern aspects.
