Recent Weather

Last week, strong northerly winds moved loose snow around dramatically. Much snow sublimated into the atmosphere, while the rest fell in protected leeward features. Benign conditions since have allowed the avalanche hazard to decrease.

Weather models have been inconsistent, so confidence is low. Expect a couple inches of snow tonight into Wednesday with light east wind. This shouldn’t affect the avalanche hazard much. Thursday, however, looks to bring significant precipitation with moderate east wind and increasing temperatures. The avalanche hazard will probably increase then.
