Recent Avalanche Activity

Recent Weather

Monday and Tuesday brought 5 inches of water with the freezing line above our local peaks. This caused much avalanche activity including above 3, 5, and 5.5 mile of the highway. Precipitation tapered last night and temperatures decreased, allowing the avalanche hazard to come down.

Expect more precipitation through the rest of the week. Models suggest a ½ inch today, a ¼ inch Thursday, and 1 inch Friday. The freezing line should fluctuate around sea level. The avalanche hazard should continue to decrease until significant new snow accumulates.
